Summer heat. So here’s a downfall to living in a landlocked country…there’s no ocean or lake and definitely no pool to go swimming in. The heat has been so bad lately that every moment possible, I’ve been staying inside my ‘cooler than outside’ rondavel. Of course the hellish temperature does nothing to deter my kids from playing outside, yet when I look at them they’re dripping with sweat (real enticing for hug-giving!). I was then struck by genius one day and remembered how fun water balloons were when I was younger…who am I kidding? I still love water balloons. So I filled up some balloons and called the kids over. They had no idea what to expect, but I told them all to stand on the grass in front of my rondavel. I came out with what they recognized as a balloon, but little did they know that water was inside until I tossed it to my nephew and immediately upon catching it, the balloon exploded and Mohlanka was SOAKED!!!! Priceless and hilarious.
