Butt-load ‘o Buckets

Standard

As I mentioned before, I have moved to my permanent site for the next two years.  For the past nine weeks I have lived with an extraordinary host family!  One of the many luxuries of living with a host family was that Peace Corps provided all the pots and pans necessary for living, and my family let me borrow their appliances and such, but I live nine hours away from them now, and therefore needed to buy everything necessary for moving in before the journey.  I had been accumulating things like pots and pans, spices etc. but I certainly forgot about the many buckets necessary for living.  I had to buy two 15Liter buckets to store my water, a basin for washing dishes, a basin for washing myself, a compost bucket for my soon-to-be vegetable garden and a much needed pee bucket.  I am living out of buckets!  The most comical thing was the circus of one starring yours truly carrying all of these buckets down the streets.
